Like, I know she thinks she's being strategic/playing realpolitik, doesn't want to have another failed impeachment attempt on her hands, etc. etc.
But, like... the ~optics of this sort of fussy hand-wringing is exactly why we're here in the first place! Maybe *everyone* needs to be doing somoe of the ol' soul searching about How We Got Here, not just the GOP, y'know?

Like, just to say the quiet part out loud for a moment, the entire current MAGAmuffin playbook on ~election doubts~ isn't something they invented. They aren't smart enough for that; they lifted it wholesale from the last four years of the liberal establishment's impotent bleatings about Russian interference in 2016. There are significant elements (in both parties) that treat this sort of stuff as a cynical game.

I really do think people underestimate how much of the nudge-nudge-wink-wink GOPer "playing along" with Trump's fraud nonsense is petty payback against Democrats for the Russia stuff. The fact that it's not real... well. That's never stopped the GOP in the past, has it? They're also still trying to get revenge for Watergate for freak's sake (ref. e.g. Benghazi).

Tl;dr so much of the gerontocratic Washington political class is just... completely divorced from the Really Real World. And, like. I loathe bothsidesism and the GOP is definitely the more corrosive party overall. But, in this particular case, the Dems are just as guilt of aiding and abetting all this nonsense.
