Sarah might have the ‘rona :(

It’s hard to say for sure, of course, but she has a dry cough with a little SOB, but no fever. Just treating with lots of fluids and humidifier on full blast, and she messaged her doctor to keep him in the loop.

If she does indeed have the ‘rona, it almost definitely means that I’m an asymptomatic carrier and she caught it from me, because she’s been strictly at home for two weeks and I’m still going into the fucking office every day :(

covid

It’s nerve-wracking because she has a bunch of underlying health conditions, none of which are specifically linked to covid complications, but all of which can really fuck shit up if she gets sick with something else. That happened about 6 months ago, and she was just starting to recover from it.

So fingers crossed not only that she recovers normally from whatever this is, but also that there aren’t any additional health consequences for her.

@alpine_thistle oh, damn :(. Good luck, whatever it ends up being.

covid

@alpine_thistle Poor thing, I hope she’s OK. Both of you.

@alpine_thistle
😦😬 If that's what it is, here's hoping she is one of the many mild cases!

covid

@alpine_thistle hugs offered. I hope this passes easily and soon.

covid

@alpine_thistle Oh no :( Do you have a protocol for what to do if her symptoms turn worse?

Understandably you'll be most worried about Sarah, but monitor your own condition carefully, too. The virus can have a weeks-long latency period and it may be that she simply showed symptoms sooner than you.

Also will work FINALLY let you take time off/work from home to reduce risk for others & care for your wife? 🙄

covid

@lj_writes getting time off work shouldn’t be a problem, but now they’re going to pay me to do nothing instead of paying me to work from home, because they took their damn time getting laptops started. So that’s their problem now. 🤷‍♀️

Right now we’re waiting for her doctor to respond back, and he should hopefully be able to let us know what the best protocol is if things get worse. Just nursing it like it’s a nasty cold right now.

covid

@alpine_thistle Covid is more like a cold/flu in 80% of cases, as you know, so with luck that's how it'll stay 🤞 Take good care of her and stay healthy ❤

covid

@alpine_thistle Oh, no. That's so scary. Best thoughts for both of you.
