Pinned toot

I'm Anne, a thirtysomething stick-in-the-mud who writes fic and meta, primarily for Red vs. Blue but occasionally other things as well. I also dabble in fanmixes and podfic.

I've been seeing the writing on the wall with tumblr for a long time now and I'm interested in where fandom will take itself in the future and in finding better options than the next big thing in corporate-owned social media.

I haven't completely abandoned tumblr but I'm hanging out on DW a lot these days.

Started Ann Leckie's Provenance last night and I'm already hooked. I really loved the Radch trilogy and it's great to be in that universe again.

Nominations are open for Femdom Exchange and I went ahead and made some... I'm getting real tempted to sign up.

If I do, it'll probably end up bumping at least one of my 2019 writing goals to "not happening this year" which isn't the worst thing ever, I just gotta decide if it's what I want.

“Forgive me, father, for I have sinned.”
“What sins have you committed, my child?”
“I keep singing Barenaked Ladies songs.”
“How long has it been since you last confessed?”
“IT’S BEEN — ”

I've really slacked off on watching movies lately so today I picked an impulse grab from the library and I'm gonna watch JUPITER ASCENDING.

Congratulations to all my fellow Hugo Award winning #AO3 authors lol 👍

Anytime I have discussions about tumblr and tumblr alternatives with people outside my immediate circle I am reminded how many people genuinely don't seem to understand that websites costs money to run.

Excellent article on how software architecture induces behaviour, specifically how the "retweet" button has wreaked havoc on social media. And how financial interest is keeping it there. twitter.com/nick_kapur/status/

Audio recording is so complicated, man. Sometimes I think the real reason I became a writer is that it requires so little equipment! Pen and paper and you're in business.
