1. "Whether you like it or not we are going to make a film feat. your culture based on OUR understanding, observe."
2.Employ white director, white plot writer(s), white creatives, as well as a small number of poc (I find this term quite confusing cuz...white is also a color, right?) staff. Cast white actors/actresses as long as ppl don't protest.

3. Respond:"We make this film for Chinese market" everytime ppl accuse the film of orientalism/ being inaccurate/ lacking poc/ genderqueer representation etc. Pretend that Hollywood've done nothing wrong and project the long-existing systemic bias of Hollywood industry to China & Chinese ppl, let the feast of hatred begin.

@kozuemiya This one drives me crazy.

It's like... Hollywood has been perfectly happy making shitty films for decades, and the films most notorious for this kind of thing come out of studios owned by *known* arch conservatives (cough Disney cough MCU cough). Deflecting their own flack onto China is, like, such transparent racism, and so many people freakin' fall for it!

@alis yeah...I mean, the history of blackface can be traced all the way back to the 19th century and back then this "Chinese market" was...where?😂 I won't say there's no narrow minded Chinese who are against poc/genderqueer representation etc., but blaming the Chinese market in general for Hollywood's conservative tendency is, at least, not a proper or precise way to look at the problems.
