In June of 1950, just three days after the start of hostilities, Seoul was on the brink of falling to the North Korean People's Army. Our noble Father of the Republic, President Rhee Syngman (may he burn in hell), had run south like the deadbeat he was and blew up the Han River bridge behind him to slow the pursuit ๐Ÿคก making it impossible to conduct a speedy large-scale evacuation, especially of immobile and vulnerable populations like the soldiers wounded in the early fighting.
